Alissara Reungsang

Alissara Reungsang is Professor of Biotechnology at the Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University, Thailand, and Associate Dean for Research, Innovation and International Relations. She earned her Ph.D. in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from Iowa State University, USA. Her research spans environmental biotechnology and bioenergy, with emphasis on biohydrogen, biomethane and biohythane production from agricultural and industrial residues, bioremediation of pesticide-contaminated soil and water, and the valorisation of waste for the circular bioeconomy. She has published more than 250 international journal articles and book chapters, holds numerous patents, and has twice held a TRF Senior Research Scholar grant. Her honours include Thailand’s Outstanding National Researcher Award (2020), three NRCT Research Awards (2016, 2023, 2026), the Thailand Toray Science and Technology Award (2022), and the AAAE Researcher/Innovator of the Year Award (2024). She is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Society of Thailand.
