Tsai-Hsuan Chen

Dr. Tsai-Hsuan Chen is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. Her research focuses on sustainable water treatment and resource recovery, with an emphasis on membrane-based separation processes. Her current work advances thermally driven membrane distillation and electrically driven redox-mediated electrodialysis for applications in desalination, wastewater reclamation, brine management, and resource recovery. By combining membrane science, transport phenomena, and process engineering, Chen’s group develops energy-efficient separation processes that enhance water sustainability and support resource circularity. Her research contributes to the development of resilient water systems capable of utilizing unconventional water resources, addressing emerging environmental challenges, and advancing toward minimum liquid discharge.
